Massage Therapy

Deep Tissue: Extremely therapeutic, utilizes firm pressure massage techniques including compression, trigger point therapy and cross fiber friction. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendonitis.

Hot Stone Massage: Polished river stones are heated and then oiled to glide across the body and provide muscle melting bliss. Combined with Swedish massage techniques. Great for overall relaxation and muscle tension caused by stress.

Pregnancy Massage: Prenatally, specific techniques can reduce pregnancy discomforts and concerns and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and baby. Skilled, prenatal massage facilitates labor, shortening labor times and easing discomfort and anxiety. In the postpartum period, specialized techniques rebalance structure, physiology, and emotions of the new mother.

Reflexology: Focuses on the feet, ankles and calves or the hands and arms. By massaging specific areas, the body is assessed and treated resulting in relaxation and detoxification.

Swedish: The classic massage. By adapting pressure and long, kneading strokes, this full body massage leaves you feeling relaxed and tranquil, improves circulation and mobility.

Acupressure: Continues to be the most effective method for self-treatment of tension-related ailments by using the power and sensitivity of the human hand. Acupressure can be effective in helping relieve headaches, eye strain, sinus problems, neck pain, backaches, arthritis, muscle aches, tension due to stress, ulcer pain, menstrual cramps, lower backaches, constipation, and indigestion. Self-acupressure can also be used to relieve anxiety and improve sleep. There are also great advantages to using acupressure as a way to balance the body and maintain good health. The healing touch of acupressure reduces tension, increases circulation, and enables the body to relax deeply. By relieving stress, acupressure strengthens resistance to disease and promotes wellness.

How does Chiropractic and massage work together?

Dr Laura Ledger performs adjustments to free the joints of inflammation, adhesions, and adverse neurological stimulation so that motion is full and without pain. Valerie’s massage technique focuses on the tissues that actually produce the motion. Many problems involve a combination of tissues, and a combination of therapies produces the most effective and expedient results.
